Bottle Kiln Vase

£18.00

Bottle Kilns, for firing pottery, were mainly built in the late 18 and early 19 centuries.  This historical shape has been part of our cultural craft for well over one hundred years, so reproducing its form in wood seems appropriate.  These vases are made of Ash, which has been sustainably harvested from the Isle of Wight, and as Ash has a very open grain structure, it is perfect for highlighting with pigmented wax, giving them their striking striped appearance.  The vases measure approximately 13 cm high and each contains a test tube for a single bud/rose.  The internal diameter of the test tube is 9 mm.

Bring a touch of history and craftsmanship into your home with our handcrafted Bottle Kiln Vases, inspired by the iconic pottery kilns of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Each vase is carefully made from sustainably sourced Ash from the Isle of Wight, featuring a striking pigmented wax finish that highlights the natural grain and creates a unique striped appearance.

Measuring approximately 13cm high, each vase includes a test tube for a single bud or rose (internal diameter 9mm), making it a perfect handmade decorative piece or a thoughtful artisan gift for lovers of woodcraft and historic design.
